D-O-N-E

It was an E A S Y and fun work weekend!
We really enjoyed morning coffee in the hot tub, grilling, afternoon drinks in the hot tub, good music on the DTV, and making the finishing touches.
Measure twice, cut once.
Adding floor outlets.

To access under the house...

a pull ring is a must!

Access granted!

I really shouldn't leave my camera unattended.

One of my projects was refinishing the top of an old cedar chest (not my mothers).  It had developed some water stains on the top.
hmmm... I may know how that happened, but I'm not telling!

Projects completed.
Cleaning finished.
Laundry done.
Truck loaded.
Taking a little time to love this view.

Relaxing on the patio.

Enjoying the covered front deck.

 Mickey's new ride.

Come sit with us a spell!

And the winner is...

Cory for Christi!

Tie Up & Tidy Up!

Because we left so early on Tuesday,
in 13" of snow,
it was still dark as we packed up to leave,
and we had no power when we left,
we came back today to turn off whatever we left on.
Surprisingly, the TV and a couple lights were all.
Also, we left the place a little messy.
So, we are here to tie up loose ends and tidy up the place.
Our gate today.
Our gate just 5 days ago.

We began with adding the final coat of polyurethane to the baseboards.

I couldn't resist this shot.
Our view off the front deck this afternoon.

Give-A-Way!

Because it has been a long time...
Because I have been cleaning and purging at the cabin...
Because I love ya...

This cute little box

with two drawers

is filled with two CM mini albums!

Who wants to win?

Just leave a comment to let us know
what you would do in the mountains with this much snow?
(See previous post.)

Winner will be announced on Wednesday, April 11.

Come on up!
Four wheel drive and tire chains
are required on the mountain road today!
Oh, and bring a shovel!

Thank You, Cory and Steve!

Today brings the finishing touches!
 Preparing for the baseboards
by shortening the existing trim.
 Measure twice, cut once.
 Figuring it out.
 Transition piece.
(AKA 3 guys and a geranium.)
Clean up is the final step.

Now, I'll be silent while you scroll though the photos
of the beautiful floors!

Meanwhile, what's going on outside?

As the snow accumulates...

Thanks for a job well done, guys!

Now, for some target practice!

Snow in April?
Yes, and lots of it!

Dinner this evening:
Salmon cooked over an oak fire
Roasted Brocolli
Parmesan CousCous
Broiled Tomatoes
Tres Leches Cake

And the snow just keeps on falling...

9 1/2 " at 6pm

A beautiful evening!
But, our electricity went out around 8:30.

Early morning, we had power for a while,
but it went out again before daylight
and didn't come on before we left.
The total snowfall as we left was almost 13"!

A couple of trees laden with snow
had to be pulled aside by Steve and Cory so we could get by!
Please overlook the trash bags in the back of the truck.
By the way, it was a 3 bag weekend,
not to mention the 30 flooring boxes that were burned
or the old carpet left behind for a future trip to the dump!
