A Fashion Statement.

We stopped in Mora today
en route to Santa Fe at the
Tapetes de Lana Weaving Center
Their Alpaca wool is beautiful!
Tours and weaving classes are available.

Inside this artsy place
you will find an espresso shop.
We really stopped by to support
this addition to Mora business.
Mickey ordered an Americano
with four shots of espresso.
I guess he was pretty wired
when his coffee was suddenly all over
his white shirt!
Rather than return to the cabin for a clean shirt,
he bought one there, thus
supporting the local chamber of commerce.

There were comments in Santa Fe!
"Hey man, I like your shirt.  Yes, that's good!",
said our waiter at Cafe Castro.

At Jackalope, he found a palm leaf sombrero.
Now that's a hat!
However. it was not a purchase.

Back on our mountainside.
we enjoyed the sunset in the hot tub.

Raspberry Fields Forever!

Every year, I pick raspberries here.
I spent about 45 minutes
and came home with 4 pounds!
Sweet!

This year, the $5 per pound price included
a container for picking and another one for
carry out.  This is the carry out.  Pretty flimsy, huh?
I have always taken my own basket,
which they measure empty and full.
I won't go without my own basket again.
The picking container had no handles
and the carry out container had only one.
Poorly designed!
.
It is really hard to lift branches, pick off berries
and juggle the container.

Prepared to freeze.

Ready to eat!

Oh and my latest project.

Cleaning

Mickey used the pressure washer
to clean just about everything today.
The patio, wood deck, the grill,
the bench (my latest Craig's List find),
the four wheelers and the Jeep.

I got out of the way!

Here are the results.

Front deck.
See the new bench?

I thought that this was a dirt dauber's nest
on the ceiling of the front deck.
It is actually a hornet's nest.
I don't think that I have ever seen this before.
I really would like to see it destroyed before
I see hornets and it gets bigger!

Now really, don't you want to spend some time here?

It's cool, comfortable and clean!

More completed projects tomorrow.
And a field trip.

Completion

 I love a completed project!

The cross tie retaining wall is in place
and actually looks good!
More importantly, we think it will do the job.

My flowers are basically undisturbed
or if they were, it is for the better.

And now for the big reveal...

Under the stairs closet.

I do love me some organization
and this system from Target was perfect!
It is listed as a door rack, but can be wall mounted.
Finally, I can see what we have!

Sale Price
                                                                $34.99 online price
                                                                  Closetmaid 8-Tier Adjustable Door Rack

And a few minutes of rest on the newly designed patio
brought lots of entertainment from the
humming birds!

Soon they will be on their way to
South America.
Drink up little birds.
That's a long trip!

Thank you cabin wine drinkers!

We went back to Amarillo for a few days.

While there, Mickey decided to inventory his wine bottles
and clean them.

The total? 160!
Many thanks to all our scrap booking friends
who have contributed empty bottles!

Into the dishwasher for drying.

The specific gravity test said to move forward.
Here, he is removing the gasses.
Oh, uh, from the wine.

At 45 degrees this morning,
we decided on a nice warm fire
and coffee in the hot tub!

Enough of that relaxing stuff!
Let's get some projects going!

This under the stairs closet is very frustrating.

I've got this!

And another project!

Only to be topped by a snake from my flower garden!

Mickey was digging to improve drainage
and this is what he found.

Now here is his real project.

I call these killer cross ties
because I thought that when moving them,
they were going to kill me!

Pulling them off the trailer with the 4 wheeler!
This is definitely not the way we loaded them.

Looking good!
Tomorrow?
Finishing.

Back again!

When left alone
I tend to shop.
Online.
Amazon and Craigslist are my friends!

What's this?

A new more safe cover for my WII balance board.

A sideboard for the cabin.

Teak wood bench for the cabin.

And then my husband returned.

To take me back to the mountains!
Yippee!

His wine and his wife need some attention.

A cooking fire.

And a warm fire.

And an afternoon together.

And a great meal.

Salmon, asparagus and cucumber salad.

My Favorite Trail!

They rode my favorite trail!
All the trails are pretty,
but this one is majestic!
We always see elk here.

always be prepared.
