The Saturday Evening Post

We are so happy to be back in the mountains!
Our route this time was across Ocate and there is always lots of wildlife.  These Elk were considering bedding down for the night.  We don't know if it was their final destination today or not.
It was a beautiful, cold morning for spreading some gravel.
I know that it doesn't look like much, but it will make a big difference when it rains.  Wonder when that will be?
Aren't these fun gadgets?  Thank you Robin and Terry!  We will use them this evening!
Start with a platter of vegies and some chicken.
Add a platter of fruit and pound cake.
Combine with good friends.
Add a little wine.
Mix in some outdoor fun.
Heat up the grill.
And enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
The result is great shish-ka-bobs and good times.

The Saturday Evening Post

Just a few more days...
until we plan to be in the mountains!  We are anxious to get there, work in a couple of projects, then welcome a small group for the weekend.  When will you come up?  Have you made your reservations?  Our summer calendar is filling, but we want to see you!

Saturday Evening Post

Wishing we were somehow there with you again!
Uh-huh, we are still in Amarillo.
I stood in the back yard a couple of days ago and wished real hard that I would be there.  For a brief moment, I thought the wind might just carry me off!  Then, in a panic, I realized that I would be blowing the wrong way, so I weighted myself back down to earth and am still here in Amarillo.
Waiting not so patiently for our next trip to the mountains, my mountain man is really tied up right now being a general contractor in Amarillo.  Could I possibly complain?  I don't really think so.  We will just be content for now and look forward to Spring in the mountains.
We will definitely be there in a couple of weeks!
Can't wait to see you... you know who you are!

The Saturday Evening Post

Wishing we were in the mountains, it's Saturday Evening again and we are still in Amarillo.  :(  Our plan to be there failed this weekend.  We need to spread some gravel on the new driveway.  Unfortunately, the gravel hauler didn't return our calls until late Friday afternoon.  By then, it was too late to arrange the delivery.  This is the land of manana!  We will be calling earlier next week to try to nail down a delivery time.  Hopefully, my next post will be before Saturday and from the mountains.

The Saturday Evening Post

Sunset Spooners,
Sunset Saturday Evening Post Cover,
April 24,1926

We are currently not in the mountains as much as we would like to be and I usually post from there.  I miss posting and am sure that you will not return regularly without consistent posts.  You can now look for a regular Saturday Evening Post on this blog.  We will let you know where we are each week and we hope to be in the mountains, posting daily!  This week, you will find us in Amarillo working on our income tax reports.  Fortunately, we were busy doing just this when our accountant called today and we will try to get it wrapped up and in his hands by Monday.  Have you filed your return, yet?  Leave a comment to let us know that we are not alone!  There is safety in numbers, you know!
One more thing, this is not an original thought.  A blog that I read used the Saturday Evening Post idea and I liked it.  I hope that you will enjoy it, as well.
