brrrr...

It was 18 degrees this morning when we woke up!
Hot tub and hot coffee warmed us up nicely.
I always hate to leave the mountains,
but our work here is done for now.

We decided to take the Ocate Pass
on our return.
It has been a long time
since we travelled this road.
It was enjoyeable.

We went through Wagon Mound,
Roy, Mosquero and Logan.

But at the Canadian River
I had to stop for a photo op.
This little oasis is so unexpected!

Stopping at Russell's Travel Center
on I-40 at exit 369 is an experience.
We watched it being built and waited
for years (really) for the opening!
First and foremost,
the bathrooms are clean
and had fresh flowers in the ladies' room!
Next, there is a Subway.
(We split a $5 footlong when we travel.)
There is a museum, a chapel
and a nice looking restaurant.
The entire place is full of fun things to see
and more travel snacks than you can imagine!
Gas prices were ok.
Who could ask for more?
We approve of this Travel Center.
