Preparing to Pour

This tool has been around a very long time.  Back in the 1960's and 1970's my father-in-law owned an exterminating business in Lewisville, TX.  This concrete drill was used to drill into concrete slabs so that chemicals could be injected into the soil beneath the slab where termites lived.  It was surely a big investment at that time and was never considered that it someday might end up being used at our NM cabin to tie an existing footing to a concrete pad.  Over the years, it has had many uses and has never failed to perform.  What's that old saying? "They don't make 'em like they used to!"
The Skill Roto-Hammer at forty plus years still does the job.  Here, 1/2" holes are being drilled 12" deep for rebar to be hammered in.  It can drill a hole up to 1 1/2" diameter and up to 18" deep.  Pretty impressive, huh?
It has bored holes through cinder block on this foundation and on numerous jobs wherever the ability to drill through concrete was required.
End of the day.
